I'm a retired auto worker. I swung a 3lb hammer 12.5-16 hours every night in the back of the foundry at Ford in Cleveland. Knockin' the scrap off hot cylinder heads and stackin' them in a skid. Tossed 105lbs with each one. That consistent hammering sound was the music of my job. I'll never be able to forget it. Good lyrics that are all too descriptive!

This is also in the 1998 film, “A Civil Action.” Great track, the good Captain’s voice in fine form.

I watched this as a kid in the late 80's (brilliant film) but i recall the intro Don (CB) used some coarse language that was different (must have been 2 versions)

If there was ever a theme for the working man this is it. Watch this movie and it tells you how wrong the Left is now getting distracted by woke politics instead of focusing on the class struggle.

I remember going with a good friend to see this film at the local theatre when it was first released, drawn by Pryor's involvement and, that of debut director, Schrader who had also written Taxi Driver. As soon as that unmistakeable slide guitar cut across the industrial rhythm track we looked over at one another and smiled a knowing grin, and by the time Beefheart's vocal filled the theatre, I was laughing out loud. I have no idea how it impacted those filmgoers who weren't already familiar with both Ry and Don, but it still stands out as a life-altering moment in my own creative evolution. Thanks for sharing! -scunny-
