Review by Jason Hunt

The album Prélude Á Laprès Midi Dun Faune Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte, performed by Debussy Ravel The London Festival Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Thomas Greene, is a beautiful and captivating collection of classical pieces. The orchestra's execution of the music is flawless, with each instrument blending seamlessly together to create a truly stunning sound.

The album features two of Debussy's most famous works, "Prélude Á Laprès Midi Dun Faune" and "Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte," both of which are performed with great skill and attention to detail. The London Festival Symphony Orchestra's interpretation of these pieces is both evocative and emotional, capturing the essence of Debussy's unique style.

In addition to Debussy's works, the album also includes Ravel's "Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte," which is performed with the same precision and artistry as the other pieces on the album. The orchestra's execution of Ravel's work is particularly noteworthy, as they are able to capture the delicate nuances of the piece while maintaining a sense of grandeur and majesty.

About Debussy Ravel The London Festival Symphony Orchestra, Thomas Greene

Born: August 22, 1862 (Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France). Died: March 25, 1918 (Paris, France). Claude Debussy was a French composer. He is sometimes seen as the first Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term. He was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Debussy's music frees itself of the academicism of the late nineteenth century (in particular that of the Austro / German School) to offer new perspectives and dimensions to twentieth century music. Through the use of pentatonic scales, of the whole tone scale, he returns to the ambiguity of modal systems and accomplishes a revolution of traditional harmony, different from the Wagnerian revolution. Debussy's music frees itself from the tyranny of the bar, which with its periodic accents forces the rhythm to a pre-ordered repetitions; as a consequence of these metric-harmonic innovations the classical forms are abandoned.
