American Stoner Rock / Metal band from Savannah, Georgia. Baroness formed in mid-2003, founded by former members of the Punk/Metal band Johnny Welfare And The Paychecks. In August 2012 the band and their crew were involved in a very serious crash with their bus while being on tour in the UK. In March 2013 it was announced that Matt Maggioni and Allen Blickle will not continue touring with Baroness due to this event. They were replaced by Nick Jost and Sebastian Thomson. In 2017 Pete Adams left Baroness, he was replaced by Gina Gleason. Baroness founded their own label in 2015. Members: John Dyer Baizley - Guitar, Vocals Gina Gleason - Guitar Sebastian Thomson - Drums Nick Jost - Bass, Keyboards

Baroness is generally considered one of the most innovative bands under the "sludge metal" tent. They create well-played, mostly interesting music. I think Allen Blickle's drumming should be singled out as a big part of what makes Baroness enjoyable. He negotiates and adds to the music's twists and turns with great skill. This short vinyl single is probably noteworthy for the band's fun version of the hardcore punk band DESCENDENTS' "Bikeage". This single is apparently out of print; less than 4000 copies were originally pressed. But it is available on Ebay starting at $60 S
